Longtime Santa Fe resident and editor of Outside magazine Chris Keyes spoke with me about his new news nonprofit, RE:PUBLIC. Although the publication's coverage will have a national focus, Keyes said its Santa Fe roots remain important.
"The majority of our public lands are in the West, and the majority of our national media is on the East Coast," Keyes said. "I think that there's sometimes a lack of understanding from the people who are based on the East Coast of how much public lands come into our daily realities when you live in the West."
