A police officer has narrowly avoided serious injury from a booby trap after detectives raided an alleged cannabis warehouse, seizing around $2 million in drugs.
Live wires and other booby traps were allegedly discovered in a Cheltenham factory, in Melbourne's southeast suburbs, after police searched the property on September 24.
Victoria Police said the traps could be "deadly when stood on, with one officer narrowly avoiding injury - or worse".
Police seized more than 500 cannabis plants of varying maturity in the factory.
A unit in Springvale was also searched by police as part of the three-month investigation into drug trafficking in the city's southeast.
Around $20,000 cash, as well as cannabis seedlings growing in tubs, were seized from the unit.
