New Delhi, Oct 02: The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved Phase-III of the Biomedical Research Career Programme (BRCP), set to run from 2025-26 to 2030-31, with a budget of Rs. 1500 crore.
This program, in collaboration with the Wellcome Trust, aims to cultivate scientific talent and promote interdisciplinary innovation in biomedical research. Key initiatives include Early Career Fellowships, Collaborative Grants, and a Research Management Programme designed to enhance research capabilities across India.
The program aims to train over 2,000 researchers, boost academic output, and increase support for women in science, solidifying India’s position as a leading global center for biomedical research.
