King Charles III is said to have made a surprising allowance for his brother Prince Andrew, despite years of damaging headlines linking the Duke of York to disgraced paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Friends of the 65-year-old insisted to The Royalist’s Tom Sykes on Wednesday that Andrew is "categorically not" being exiled from royal life or the King's company.

The claim runs counter to reports that Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah 'Fergie' Ferguson, have been cast out of the fold following fresh scrutiny of their Epstein ties.

That scrutiny flared again only a week ago after the resurfacing of a 2011 email in which Fergie, who had just apologised for taking £15,000 (AUD $30,000) from Epstein, referred to him as her "supreme friend" and denied ever calling him a paedophile in interviews.
