After reports of the site of Fayetteville Motor Speedway being sold for industrial/commercial use as part of a 500-acre parcel, Broadwell Land Company and Cumberland Speedway Corp. owner Dohn Broadwell Jr. verified to The Observer that although the racetrack will be closing after the 2025 season, the land has not been sold.
"The racetrack property is not yet sold, nor under contract," Broadwell, whose Cumberland Speedway Corp. owns the track, wrote in an email to The Observer. "It is listed with a broker for sale as an industrial/commercial site. Soil tests and other due diligence work will begin soon as the property is studied for industrial use. We are closing the track in preparation for the due diligence work and possible sale."
