A goal by junior midfielder Manu Ribeiro in the 15th minute proved to be the game-winner as Madison, No. 14 in the NJ.com Top 20, built a quick lead to defeat Mountain Lakes, 3-1, and remain unbeaten.
After junior midfielder Camryn Visich staked the Dodgers (7-0-1) to a 1-0 advantage in the fifth minute, Ribeiro converted a pass from senior midfielder Anna Gominiak to extend the lead to 2-0 in the 15th minute.
Mountain Lakes cut its deficit in half when Samantha Trimble scored off an assist from Kristine Squeglia in the 28th minute. Ribeiro netted her second goal of the game in the 65th minute, this time off an assist from Visich, to re-establish Madison’s two-goal cushion.
Junior keeper Antonia Waddington made four saves for Madison, which held a 14-5 shots advantage.
