BUXTON, N.C. — Seven homes have fallen into the ocean on the Outer Banks in less than 48 hours.
Debris still stretches across beaches in Buxton after strong waves from Hurricane Humberto and Hurricane Imelda caused the houses to collapse . People who are on the ground in Buxton are now focused on what cleanup efforts may look like and when they can get started.
13News Now spoke with a man who has a debris removal business in the community, Travis Morris. He said it is important they start soon.
Morris said that he, along with several others who own debris removal companies in town, were out surveying costs and how their efforts might look throughout the week.
