On the day of Dussehra, bulldozer action created tension in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh.

On Thursday morning, authorities demolished a marriage hall with bulldozers in Raya Buzurg village, about 30 km from the district headquarters.

Adjacent to it stood a mosque, which was also marked for demolition.

District Magistrate Rajendra Pensia and SP K.K. Bishnoi were present at the site as the area was turned into a security zone.

Nearly 200 police and PAC personnel were deployed, and drones were used for aerial monitoring.

When the demolition of the marriage hall began, villagers requested the DM for four days to dismantle the mosque themselves.

Permission was granted, after which locals started breaking down the mosque walls voluntarily.
