Coronation Street star Sally Ann Matthews has opened up about the real reason for her 'low-key' exit from the long running show, as she also revealed her departure scenes were changed.
The actress confirmed back in August that she would be leaving the ITV soap, ten years after she reprised the role of Jenny Bradley on the cobbles.
"I was supposed to stay for five months but ended up doing an extra ten years because I loved it so much," the soap star admitted in a social media post.
"It’s time, though, to play those parts I always hoped I would when I’d grown up. Thanks Trafford Wharf Rd for the memories and endless laughter."
Her final scenes were then aired during Wednesday's (October 1) episode of Corrie, with Jenny deciding to head for a new life in Tenerife, Spain.
