CHICO, Calif. - The Howard Slater Navigation Center in Chico is nearing completion, with services expected to begin soon this fall.

The new center will expand housing services for people across Butte County, providing immediate access to shelter, housing assistance, and homelessness prevention services.

Ashiah Bird, Marketing and Communications Director for the True North Housing Alliance, said, "So we just putting on the finishing touches, we have some paint that's being done in the connection to the Torres Shelter between the Torres Shelter and navigation center is being finalized, we also have dukes park and kennel that's opening at the same time and so the fencing is being done with that."
