BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — For the first time in over a decade, a popular country music festival will not be held in Cullman.

On Thursday, organizers for Rock the South announced that the festival would be moving 40 miles away to Decatur in 2026, marking a departure from its longtime home at York Family Farms in Cullman, where it first started in 2012.

"Fifteen years of Southern tradition. More than a festival, it's our way of life," festival organizers announced in a message posted on social media Thursday morning. "In 2026, we're taking it to a new level. Welcome to our new home, The Fields at Decatur. For the first time ever, we own this property. That mean, we're gonna do it the right way."
