A major update has been issued by police regarding the device being worn by a terror suspect, who was shot dead outside a Manchester synagogue.

Two members of the Jewish community were killed in the attack, which left four others seriously injured this morning (Thursday, October 2).

A car was driven at members of the public outside the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue before the driver - who was wearing what appeared to be an 'explosive vest' - attacked people with a knife.

Armed police shot the suspect dead at around 9.30am, seven minutes after the emergency call was made, the Manchester Evening News reports.
