ATLANTA (WIS) - A man believed to be a student at the University of South Carolina is now wanted after an assault at an Atlanta bar.

The Atlanta Police Department told WIS that the 20-year-old suspect was involved in an altercation on Sept. 1 at Park Tavern, a bar located on 10th Street.

Investigators say a verbal dispute escalated into an assault involving the suspect. Atlanta police said officers arrived at the scene to find an unconscious victim who had injuries to the head and face. The victim was taken to a hospital.

Atlanta police also said the suspect may be a student at the University of South Carolina. WIS has reached out to USC for comment.
