Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s help in two separate investigations including a recent truck crash and an attempted robbery where the victim sped away, leaving the suspect behind.

Police are asking nearby businesses for camera footage after a man was found asleep in the back of his truck following a report of a truck crash in the middle of the night last month.

At 3 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, a security officer reported a pickup truck had crashed at the intersection of Mostar Road and Island Highway North.

“When police arrived, they found an adult man asleep in the backseat,” states Nanaimo RCMP.

When officers asked the driver what happened, he told police “all he remembers is waking up and seeing police officers staring at him.”
