The Victoria Police Department is warning the public that temporary closed circuit television (CCTV) will be deployed, and traffic disruptions are expected due to planned demonstrations on Oct. 4 and 11.

The department notes the use of CCTV is in support of their operations to ensure public safety and help maintain traffic flow.
VicPD said in a release it recognizes everyone’s right to freedom of expression and lawful assembly, and to demonstrate in public spaces, including streets, as protected by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
