The sentencing for former Wildwood Mayor Pete Byron, who admitted accepting state health benefits he wasn't entitled to last year, has been pushed back to December, according to court records.
Byron is scheduled to appear in Cape May County Superior Court before Judge Pamela D'Arcy at 9 a.m. Dec. 5. His sentencing was originally scheduled for Friday.
He pleaded guilty Sept. 27, 2024, to theft. Deputy Attorneys General Brian Uzdavinis and Niccole L. Sandora agreed to treat Byron as a third-degree offender and recommended a sentence of three years in prison.
