WALTHAM, Mass. —

A Massachusetts physical education teacher who has worked at multiple schools is facing various child pornography charges, according to the Massachusetts State Police.

Stephen McDonough, 60, of Waltham, was arrested on charges of possession of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography.

According to court documents, McDonough served as a gym teacher at St. Stephens Armenian Elementary School in Watertown. State police said he also worked in Belmont and Waltham, although Waltham said he did not.

In late August 2025, the Massachusetts State Police Cyber Crime Unit received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about suspicious activity online related to child pornography. The activity was traced back to McDonough’s residenc
