WATERTOWN, Mass. —

Three Watertown High School football players are being praised for helping police catch an alleged drunken driver who was involved in a hit-and-run crash.

The trio witnessed a crash last week that involved a car and a pizza delivery driver. They said the driver of the car fled the area.

"The second he drove off, we kind of, like, chased him," junior Riaz Khan said. "We got his license plate. I wrote it in my notes and then I wrote what kind of car it was."

The three football players went back to check on the delivery driver. The airbags deployed and the car was smashed, but luckily, the driver was OK.

The players pointed out the alleged drunken driver to police, who chased the suspect and eventually took him into custody.
