Hundreds of protesters took to Edinburgh's Waverley station on Thursday evening.

Video footage seen by Edinburgh Live showed a mass protest taking place in the station at around 6.40pm on Thursday, October 2, with crowds seen holding Palestinian flags.

In the footage, the massive crowd can be seen pushing against the barrier as police and station staff fight to keep the cordon in place.

Further footage show that the protest had made it inside the station, while chants of "free, free, Palestine" could be heard.

A passenger on a train leaving the station told Edinburgh Live: "As I walked to my platform there was just this wall of noise and as you turned there corner there were hundreds of protestors.

"A few managed to sneak past the police and get into the station and then more and more
