DERBY, Kan. (KSNW) — An outbuilding was destroyed by fire Wednesday night.
Fire crews responded to a call at about 11 p.m. of a reported grass fire in a field near 111th and Hydraulic.
"Units arrived on scene to what originally appeared to be two unattended burning brush piles near the corner of 119th & Hydraulic," Derby Fire and Rescue said in a social post.
It turns out that one of the piles was smoldering rubble from a 50-foot-by-30-foot outbuilding that was burned down in the blaze.
Crews from Sedgwick County were called in to assist.
There were no reported injuries, Derby Fire and Rescue said.
