CARROLLTON, Ohio (WOIO) - Railroad crews discovered a dead body Wednesday in a ditch in Carroll County.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says Wheeling Lake Erie Rail staff spotted a body in a ditch filled with water around 3:30 p.m. in the area of State Route 171.

Deputies say the victim was not hit by the train and will undergo an autopsy.

His name was not released.

Deputies will continue investigating.
