BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- The United States Postal Service (USPS) announced operations at the St. Amant post office are temporarily suspended.
The suspension started on Wednesday, Oct. 1, and no reopening date has been provided. USPS said updates will be relayed when more information is available.
"The safety and well-being of our customers and our employees is a priority to the U.S. Postal Service. We appreciate your patience as we work to resume regular operations as quickly as possible," USPS said in a Thursday release.
A spokesperson told Louisiana First News that the closure is due to construction in the building.
People are directed to get retail services from the Sorrento post office location at 8213 John Leblanc Blvd. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 4 p.m.
