A federal judge has blocked a New Hampshire law that bans diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practices in public schools statewide.

U.S. District Court Judge Landya McCafferty issued a preliminary injunction late Thursday afternoon, saying it “shall take effect immediately and shall remain in effect pending further order of this court.” McCafferty’s order prevents public school districts from losing state government grants if they don’t comply with a law passed earlier this year that bans government agencies from DEI initiatives.
