ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Members of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 2192 held a rally in the Metro East in support of federal government workers and to call for an end to the government shutdown.
“These shutdowns do not affect just employees they disrupt the lives of countless citizens who rely on federal services,” said union member April Williams.
Missouri Congressman Wesley Bell and Illinois Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski also attended.
“The real victims in this shutdown, of this Republican shutdown, are the millions of Americans trying to access critical government services,” said Budzinski.
