ATLANTIC CITY — The city’s lone supermarket will close at the end of the month.

Shawn Rinnier, owner of the Save-A-Lot at Renaissance Plaza, said the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority terminated the store’s lease. But the agency said a new supermarket operator will be brought in to run the store next month.

“I’ve worked since 2019 trying to develop a store that could fit the needs of the community and evolved over a period of time,” Rinnier said. “That has all come to an end abruptly over the last couple of weeks. They (CRDA) are going to work hard and find someone to go there, and I wish them luck.”
