WALLINGFORD, Conn. — The Connecticut Department of Transportation plans to begin replacing three Wallingford bridges in 2028 due to structural deficiencies.

The 65-year-old bridges are located on Durham Road, New Rock Hill Road and East Center Street. CTDOT said the superstructures of the bridges are on the decline, so it's time for replacements.

“It is going to cause come problems because that is our way to the highway. It’ll take us a little longer,” said Mike Behan, who has lived in Wallingford his whole life.

Behan said he would be happy to see the bridges repaired despite the potential traffic disruptions.

“It nice to see some things being done and our town being revived,” Behan said.

The replacement of the three bridges is expected to cost between $60 million and $80 mi
