ILLINOIS (WCIA) -- Legendary primatologist and conservationist Jane Goodall died at 91 years old. Colleagues call her a trailblazer, but as a young girl, Goodall had no intention of becoming a scientist.
Now, her work has transformed the way the scientific community views, studies and interacts with primates.
One professor at the University of Illinois who met Goodall said that even in her old age, she still had the energy of a young woman. He said the challenge of continuing her legacy is left to all of us.
"I think the challenge now is for us-- it's up to us. Global citizens, scientists, politicians, to keep her legacy moving forward and to continue the work she was doing. So I think her passing -- it's sad, we all should mourn her passing, but it should inspire us just as she did in
