DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) -- More than 1,100 traffic stop were made over the last fiscal year during an enforcement effort by the Decatur Police Department, new data shows.
On Friday, the department released the results from the enforcement effort conducted between Oct. 1, 2024, and Sept. 30, 2025. Conducted via the FY 2025 Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP), highlights from the enforcement effort include: • 1,103 traffic stops • 890 tickets issued 501 for speeding 26 for seat belt violations 43 for using an electronic device 265 other tickets • 501 for speeding • 26 for seat belt violations • 43 for using an electronic device • 265 other tickets • 27 criminal arrests 3 for DUI • 3 for DUI • 52 drivers caught with a suspended/revoked license
