DOUGLAS COUNTY, Kan. —
A 29-year-old man was seriously injured Thursday evening when he crashed his motorcycle while trying to avoid turkeys in the road.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said the man was traveling southwest on E 661 Diagonal Road, near Lone Star Lake, when the crash happened just after 5 p.m. Advertisement
He was flown by helicopter ambulance to a hospital.
The sheriff’s office said the rider was wearing full protective gear, including a helmet.
The crash remains under investigation.
