PINEHURST, N.C. (WNCN) — It may not be the Ryder Cup trophy, but the Roly Bluck Putter is just as magical for two country clubs separated by more than 37,000 miles.
Every year the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst and Scotland’s Royal Dornoch Golf Club compete in a Ryder Cup format tournament. This year, the event is taking place in the Sandhills.
“It just keeps getting better and better,” said Royal Dornoch Captain Gary Bethune. “The camaraderie amongst the guys is lovely.”
Both sides, though, want to win.
“When it tightens up it gets competitive,” said Country Club of North Carolina Captain Ralph Ronalter.
