One person was seriously injured in a fiery crash involving a pole in Woburn, Massachusetts, Thursday morning.

The Woburn Fire Department said in a post on Facebook that crews responded around 8:45 a.m. to reports of a vehicle that had struck a pole and caught fire at the Route 38 rotary.

The first crew was on scene within moments, according to the fire department, and they found the driver was trapped inside the vehicle, where flames were visible from the engine compartment and had spread across the debris field.

Crews simultaneously worked to extinguish the fire and used the Jaws of Life to free the driver from the car, the fire department said. Once freed, the driver was taken to a trauma center with serious
