(Sioux Falls, SD) — Authorities say five people died after a car crashed near the Badlands National Park on Wednesday. The state Department of Safety says the driver headed east on Highway 44 and failed to negotiate a turn. The car entered the north ditch and hit a concrete barrier before catching fire. The driver and four occupants died at the scene. Authorities are still investigating the crash.
