TRAVERSE CITY — Taylor Naturkas is a principal soloist with the Miami City Ballet in Florida. The 22-year-old grew up in Petoskey, and recalls that there weren’t professional ballet performances to go see in northern Michigan. It meant driving hours or visiting a different state to see one.

That’s why she’s excited to be coming back to perform in the inaugural Northern Michigan Dance Festival in Traverse City Oct. 10-12.
