The New Orleans Pelicans made history Friday and got a victory to go along with it Friday.

Trey Murphy and Zion Williamson led the way as the Pelicans won their preseason opener Friday in Melbourne, Australia.

The Pelicans are the first NBA team to play a game in Australia.

Murphy scored 18 points and Williamson finished with 15 points and five steals in the Pelicans’ 107-97 victory over Melbourne United. The first basket of the preseason came on Murphy's jumper on an assist from Williamson.

They were two of six Pelicans to score in double figures against Melbourne United, which competes in the National Basketball League, Australia’s professional league.
