Rental project signals new era of government/developer partnerships designed to bring more affordable housing to residents

In about 40 months time, tenants will start moving into The Dennis, a purpose-built rental community located in the city’s west end neighbourhood of Mount Dennis.

What makes the 448-unit special is that it qualifies one of the first projects approved through the City of Toronto’s Purpose-Built Rental Housing Incentives Stream, a $457.5 million initiative launched last year that could see upwards of 8,000 rental units eventually built, 2,000 of which will be deemed affordable rental homes.
