There’s a new dating trend that’s all about keeping romance close to home. It’s called “zip-coding,” and involves people only dating people from their immediate area or within a specific postal code.

The trend includes setting extremely narrow location filters on dating apps – to the point where matches from outside one’s neighbourhood are automatically excluded. When we can open our phones and connect with other single people across the globe, the trend is an interesting push-back against the globalization of dating – and experts say it makes sense.
