Two people and their dog were able to escape a fire Friday morning in Fort Lauderdale, according to authorities.
It was just before 7:30 a.m. when Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said it started receiving 911 calls, first from a neighbor and then from a resident reporting a house fire.
Video of the scene from Middle River Drive and Northeast 25th Street shows flames coming from a garage as firefighters battle the blaze that was "burning through the roof," fire rescue said.
A father and son were able to evacuate, along with their dog, authorities said.
It took fire crews about 40 minutes to fully extinguish the fire.
The cause is still under investigation.
