ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - The North Carolina State Highway Patrol says drivers have been charged after a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Highway 24 this morning.
The crash, which happened around 7:30 a.m., snarled traffic near B&S Body Shop on Hwy 24, or Freedom Way.
Troopers with the Highway Patrol say a tractor-trailer was stopped on the highway offloading equipment when a driver of another vehicle ran into the back of the truck.
Troopers say the driver of the car had minor injuries and that both drivers were charged.
Around 8:20 this morning, the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office said Hwy 24 westbound is down to one lane as crews investigate the crash.
