TAMA COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - Huston Danker, the man who pleaded guilty to first degree murder in the 2021 death of Ryan Cooper, was sentenced to life in prison on Friday.

Danker, pleaded guilty in August to aiding Karina Cooper in murder her husband.

In June 2021, Cooper was found dead with two gunshot wounds to the face.

Karina Cooper, Ryan’s wife, was convicted of first degree murder earlier this year and will be sentenced to life in prison last month.

During her trial, prosecutors said Karina was having an affair with Danker, and they planned the murder together. When Karina Cooper took the stand and testified in her own defense, she said she believed Danker murdered her husband, adding that she never told police about his involvement because she was scared of him.
