Dundee star Emile Acquah could miss the trip to Aberdeen this weekend after his preparations went down the drain following a freak injury in the shower.

The striker has missed training with the Dark Blues after he slipped and almost broke his toe, with manager Steven Pressley labelling it a "freakish" accident.

But he hopes his summer signing from AFC Barrow could recover in time to help sink the Dons , who fell to a narrow 3-2 defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday night, writes Record Sport.

Pressley confirmed: "Emile Acquah hasn't trained this week thus far. He's had a fall in the shower and nearly broke his toe.

"It’s not ideal but hopefully he'll be okay come the weekend. It's a freakish one but it’s not broken so we’re hopeful he’ll be available."
