Police have arrested and charged a 31-year-old man after farm machinery stolen in Aberdeenshire was found in the north-east of England.

On August 17, officers received several reports of items including quad bikes and tractors having been taken from rural farm locations in the Alford and Huntly areas.

Extensive enquiries were carried out, and the man was traced in Durham , while the stolen vehicles were located by officers in Durham Constabulary.

Enquiries are ongoing, and the man was due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court in connection on Monday, September 26.
