Leaders at the Crumpsall synagogue where a terror attack unfolded on Yom Kippur have issued a statement.

Armed police descended on Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue, on Middleton Road, at 9.34am yesterday (October 2).

Minutes earlier, Jihad al-Shamie drove a Kia Picanto i nto people who had gathered for the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, before stabbing a man.

The 35-year-old was shot dead after officers believed he was carrying a suspicious device. Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66, tragically died while three others were seriously injured.
