BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) - A slow-moving area of low pressure is expected to bring widespread rainfall to North Dakota this weekend, with the heaviest precipitation likely Saturday afternoon through early Sunday.

Forecasters say central and eastern parts of the state could see 1 to 2 inches of rain, while western North Dakota may receive up to an inch. Locally higher amounts are possible in areas affected by stronger storms.

The system is expected to move gradually across the region, increasing the risk of heavy downpours and potentially impacting outdoor activities. Residents are advised to monitor local forecasts and prepare for wet conditions.
