Kimberly Sullivan, a woman who is accused of holding her stepson captive in their Waterbury home for decades until he set it on fire to escape, is due in court on Friday afternoon.

The judge is expected to hear special requests from both the defense and the prosecution.

Sullivan’s attorney is expected to ask the judge to allow his client to be able to return to the Waterbury home she shared with her stepson to gather her belongings and for her GPS tracker to be removed.

He has argued that she’s not a flight risk and the restrictions are “unnecessarily burdensome.”

Sullivan’s stepson, who has been known publicly as “S,” has a new name and the state filed a motion requesting that his new name and medical records
