CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 17-year-old found shot is now charged with another teenager's murder, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

Just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, Alexander Cruz Martinez, 16, was shot in the parking deck outside the Target store on Metropolitan Avenue, according to a CMPD police report.

Officers found Martinez shot multiple times. The teen was taken to a local hospital but later passed away from his injuries.

Soon after the shooting on Meropolitan Avenue, officers in north Charlotte were to a shooting in another location. They arrived to find a 17-year-old shot with non-life-threatening injuries and this teen was taken to the hospital.
