If you haven't heard of Chinese-Puerto Rican food, you're probably not alone; it's a rarity in Texas.
“If you want Chino-Boricua, you need to come to Michy’s. There’s nowhere else that serves it," said Michelle "Michy" Lao, the owner of Michy's Chino Boricua.

Lao first started serving up the cuisine in Houston, then Katy.
“To Puerto Ricans, this is what’s considered Chinese food. To anyone else outside of Puerto Rico, it’s a fusion because we mix the Puerto Rican ingredients with the Chinese ingredients," she said. “Our flavors are a little bit bolder, a little bit saltier; we have plantains, we have fried pork.”
