WIRTZ — This month will mark 12 years since Christopher Douthat was last seen. His sudden disappearance has left many questions, but family members and investigators are slowly piecing together some answers they hope will one day lead to arrests.

“It’s been way too long,” said Douthat’s mother, Mary, who lives in Wirtz. “I can’t deal with this much longer.”

Mary Douthat and her son Michael — Chris’ brother — have been patiently waiting for an official explanation of what happened. They have also worked tirelessly to seek new information from the public and push for answers from law enforcement.
