Coventry, Conn. (WFSB) - A 43-year-old Waterbury man has been convicted for sexual assault of the first degree.

According to the state’s attorney office, DNA evidence linked Deric A. Clarke to an incident of sexual assault in Coventry in 2020.

Clarke was on probation at the time for crimes of public indecency and breach of peace.

It was found that Clarke had violated his probation.

Clarke is being held on bond and scheduled for sentencing Dec. 5 in Rockville Superior Court.
