The Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are on the lookout for two suspects who are believed to have used fake $100 bills during a series of purchases in Sidney this summer.

Mounties are investigating three incidents of counterfeit money being used in Sidney on Aug. 21.

In the first incident, a “well dressed” South Asian man paid for a meal at a restaurant in the 2000-block of Beacon Avenue with a fake $100 bill.

Then, the same suspect was seen with a Caucasian man entering a gas station on the same block making purchases with two fake $100 bills.

The pair were then spotted at a grocery store in the same block of Beacon Avenue making purchases with two more fake $100 bills, which RCMP described as “prop money.”
