Following the death of three people in a boat collision during a Major League Fishing tournament on Smith Lake, a professional angler from Georgia has been indicted by a Cullman County grand jury on three counts of manslaughter.

According to court documents, Flint Davis, 22, struck another vessel when operating a boat, killing Joe Broom, 58, of Altoona, John Clark, 44, of Cullman, and Jeffrey Little, 62, of Mississippi on the morning of April 16, 2025. Two other individuals, also on the console boat hit, sustained injuries and were taken from the scene to receive medical care. Davis was allegedly speeding at 67 mph when the wreck occurred.
